Free Cross Stitch Pattern: Pumpkin Patch

Introduction

October is one of my favorite months. Walks in the forest are painted with a thousand colors, the air turns cooler, and ghosts, pumpkins, and spooky creatures sneak into our homes... and into our embroidery too!

To celebrate the month of all things dark and mysterious, I’ve created this free cross stitch pattern: Pumpkin Field. A simple and cozy design that I really enjoyed stitching. Plus, the finish on a mini canvas has me completely in love.

Materials Needed

To complete this cross stitch project, you’ll need:

• A piece of 14 ct. Aida fabric (ideally in dark tones like black or grey to make the autumn colors pop)
• DMC Mouliné threads in the following colors: 2, 4, 310, 722, 822, 900, 3820, 3822, 3346
• Size 24 blunt tip needle
• Hoop or mini canvas (optional, for finishing)

This pattern is perfect for stitching during autumn, with a cup of tea by your side and a candle lit. You can use it to decorate a special corner or turn it into a unique seasonal gift.

Ideas to Customize this free Cross Stitch Pattern

Here are a few ideas to make it your own:

• Use variegated or metallic threads in copper or gold tones
• Stitch it on hand-dyed linen for a rustic finish
• Frame it in a hoop, mini canvas, or even mount it on a greeting card
• Add a small fabric label with the date to turn it into a seasonal keepsake
