Free Cross Stitch Pattern: Stitching is self-care too

This July we’re celebrating four years since we began this embroidered adventure called Una Buena Pieza. Four years filled with color, stitches, and community. To wrap up such a special month, I’ve designed a free pattern that’s a little love note to embroidery… and to ourselves.

"Stitching is self-care too" is a simple yet powerful reminder: taking some time to embroider is not a waste, it's a way to reconnect with yourself, to listen to yourself, to be present. And that, too, is a way of caring for yourself. It’s also a quiet rebellion against the rush of this fast, frantic world.

This pattern, surrounded by flowers and little friendly ghosts, is suitable for all skill levels and perfect for enjoying slowly.

Materials you’ll need

To stitch this pattern, you’ll need:

A piece of 14 ct. Aida fabric (the design measures 80 x 80 stitches, or approximately 15 x 15 cm / 6 x 6 in).
DMC Mouliné embroidery floss in the following colors: ECRU, 783, 3326, 3346, 3348, 3799, 3822, 3862.
A size 24 tapestry needle.
An embroidery hoop (optional).

Ideas to personalize your embroidery

Here are a few ideas to make it your own:

Frame it in a round hoop and hang it near your stitching corner.
Sew it onto a fabric pouch or project bag where you keep your materials.
Add your name or a special date in one of the corners as a personal touch.
Play with your favorite thread and fabric colors to make it truly yours.
