Introduction
This free cross stitch pattern is very special because it celebrates an important birthday: Una Buena Pieza turns 3!
I started this adventure with an Etsy shop and a few patterns I had been keeping to myself for a long time—too shy to share them. Three years later, Una Buena Pieza has grown alongside me and turned into a small business that has reached over 50 countries. It has accompanied me on a journey full of lessons, emotions, and stitches.
To celebrate this milestone, I’ve designed a very detailed birthday cake, full of color, flowers, ghosts… all the little things that make this project unique.
Materials Needed
To complete this cross stitch project, you’ll need:
- A piece of 14 ct. Aida fabric (I used black)
- DMC Mouliné threads in the following colors: ECRU, 16, 19, 208, 211, 564, 600, 604, 702, 740, 747, 3812, 3799
- Size 24 blunt tip needle
- Embroidery hoop (optional)

In the design, you’ll find a candle with the number 3, but I’ve included candles from 0 to 9 so you can customize it for any occasion. It’s perfect for gifting on birthdays or celebrating your own milestones.
